Grooming Service

Our groomers will have a phone consultation or meet with you personally to discuss your cat’s specific needs and recommend just the right service.
Frank
Meet Frank! If you want a dog but don’t want all the work involved with a dog he is the cat for you! Frank is one of the most loveable cats anyone will ever meet! He soaks up any attention he can get purring non-stop. Frank has tested positive for FIV & Feline Leukemia. This, however, does not mean that he cannot live a happy life. Frank was scheduled to be euthanized but Dr Cheung wanted to give this sweet boy a chance. He is doing well right now which is why we are hoping he can spend whatever time he has left with a special family with no other cats who will spoil him!
Call the hospital if you can give this loveable guy a chance! 519-660-0300

Vera
Vera is Dr. Cheung’s rescue from Cuba. The name Vera is derived from Varadero, where she was found pool side at the Royalton resort in March 2017.
Dr. Cheung just couldn’t leave without her, and it turns out they even share the same birthday!
With the help of APAC (All for Progress in Animal Care)- Varadero, Vera was safely re-located to Canada where she will always have shelter, lots of love and a belly full of food!
Meet the infamous Pippa!
Pippa came to us from one of our clients who could no longer care for her back in 2013. Pippa has all the right qualities to be our purrfect fit. She is friendly and a wonderful greeter (known to hop up on the front desk), enjoys a good belly rub and makes sure to supervise the rest of us!
Keep your eye out for her at your next visit.
Dawn
Dawn Reynolds is our Registered Veterinary Technician and Hospital Manager. She graduated from Centralia College of Agriculture & Technology in 1989.
She is an avid cat lover with two cats of her own. She has been part of our team since early 2012.
AAFP (American Associate of Feline Practitioners) Certified Feline Advocate
Dr. Dorothy Cheung, DVM
Dr. Cheung graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 1997 and began working at Central Cat Hospital in June 2001. She has always felt a special affinity for cats, and here at Central Cat Hospital, she has been privileged to be able to hone and focus her skills on her favourite species.
She was inspired to become a feline specialist by her late beloved calico cat, Ginny. Dr. Cheung rescued Ginny from the animal shelter in Oakville in 1996 before graduating from OVC, and they were inseparable until the end. Ginny passed away at age 18 in October, 2010.
Dr. Cheung now shares her home with Floyd, who was rescued by a kind samaritan in early 2014. He was in rough shape when he first came to us with a severe eye injury and several wounds, but our team nursed him back to full health. Dr. Cheung’s more recent addition is a gorgeous calico tabby kitten named Fiona who was also a rescue. In addition to being absolutely adorable, she’s also a very sweet natured girl.
Dr. Cheung is licensed by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario and regularly attends veterinary conferences and symposiums nationwide as a part of her ongoing education in feline health. She is also a member of the AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners) and OVMA (Ontario Veterinary Medical Association).

To help keep your furry family member as comfortable as possible during the exam and/or hospital stay with us, we use warmed blankets sprayed with feliway, warmed oatbags, and feline-friendly music whenever possible. We are constantly learning and using new feline friendly techniques so that your cats' interaction with all of us here is as stress-free as possible.
After Hours Emergencies
Because of the severe staffing shortage at London Regional Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital, we have teamed up with a Canadian veterinarian-led company named Smart.Vet in an effort to improve access to after-hours veterinary care for all patients,
SmartVet is a veterinary service that will triage your pet, and can offer phone/video consults with veterinarians for non-emergent cases, or refer to the closest available emergency hospital for animals in life threatening distress.
SmartVet is able to offer two different options for after hours veterinary care.
1. Smart.Vet has a direct phone number to speak with a Registered Veterinary Technician. 1-647-695-5411.
Smart.Vet allows you, our clients, access to Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT's) over the phone whenever our hospital is not open to take your call. These RVT’s can speak with you to ascertain the level of care that your pet requires, and will then facilitate scheduling an appointment with one of their licensed Ontario-based veterinarians if needed. If your pet requires in-person intervention, the RVT will be able to determine this over the phone with you and find the closest emergency clinic that will be able to see your pet for care.
There is no cost for this call or any assistance provided by Smart.Vet’s RVT’s, however, if you are booked with a virtual veterinarian or sent to an emergency clinic there will be charges associated with that visit.
2. A virtual veterinary consult.
There is a link provided on our website or you can access directly at http://smart.vet. Clients must click register, and create an account. Once you’ve created an account, you can decide to send a message or request a phone consult/video call to speak with a veterinarian directly.
SmartVet will then send us all medical records associated with your cat for any necessary follow-up.
